The California and Illinois Attorney Generals have issued more subpoenas to mortgage servicers according to yesterday’s Wall Street Journal. The investigation is part of a probe into whether servicers illegally foreclosed on homes by failing to follow the legal procedures and “robo-signing” legal documents. Riverside County has experienced thousands of foreclosures in the last few years and someone was likely a victime of this fraud.
